UK Physical Activity Guidelines for Children and Young People (5-18 Years)

Recommendations include

  1. On average, at least 60 minutes per day of moderate to vigorous activity

  2. Vary the type and intensity of activity. E.g. ball games + cycle.

  3. Minimise sedentary time. Break up prolonged periods of sitting.

What are the activities that your child likes to do, and are there other activities that could be introduced? It can be unstructured or structured. There is no one best way to be physically active. The focus should be on activities that children enjoy and on creating opportunities for them.
